Sorry, I’ve been so terrible about keeping up my blog this month! Luckily, I have two things to share! The first: Awakened by Love by Azin Sametipour I don’t usually read cultural fiction, but this book is great. It’s about an American Muslim girl named Zoha who is struggling to find herself among her family’s strict religious ways. She falls in love with a boy named Ethan, who couldn’t be further from what her parents want for her. I gave this book five stars on Goodreads! T
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas holiday and that you’re all looking toward a bright, new 2018! To kick it off right, I wanted to share another chapter of The Time-Traveler’s Cat! CHAPTER THREE
Piper rubbed his face, looking at the clock. If it hadn’t been important, the time would have dragged by, but now that it was, it seemed like time was standing still.
He shook his head, blowing a breath between his lips as he looked down at the paper he’d been scribbling on all
Hope all you guys had a wonderful holiday and a Happy New Year! As a gift, I want to share more of The Time-Traveler's Cat with you! Read the prologue and first chapter here! CHAPTER TWO Piper let his head flop onto his desk. The clock had finally struck noon, meaning lunch time, but Piper knew he wouldn’t get away that easily. He’d come sliding in just behind the big bosses, just in time for them to not know he was late. He’d seen the way Bobby glared at him, but there was n
This year has been crazy and exciting and heart-wrenching for me. Return to Royalty was published, I created my own publishing company, I did a handful of book signings, made some new writer-friends, participated in some blog hops, went to some comic cons, and lost a dearly loved member of my family. This month I’ve been dealing with the loss of Daisy, while trying to prepare for the holidays and finish my writing projects. Unfortunately, the cancer finally got the better of
I was tagged by EE Rawls! I don’t usually write by hand a lot, unless it’s notes or reminders, so this is fun! Here are the questions I answered: Write your name Write your blog’s name Write your favorite word and its definition Write something nice Write the name of your favorite song right now What are you writing with? Write a fun fact about yourself Write/draw your favorite emoticon Write a silly message Write who you’re tagging As you can see, I left 3 and 10 blank….I th

Hi all, This week has been really crazy. Some family stuff has come up and made writing difficult. I’m pretty behind on TTTC, but I wanted to share another chapter with you! Enjoy! CHAPTER TWO

Today I want to share with you guys an excerpt from The Time – Traveler’s Cat! We’re three days into NaNoWriMo and I’d have to say it’s going great! I’d love to hear your thoughts and how you’re doing so far! PROLOGUE
The sky was black. Shadows danced between the trees that surrounded Piper as he dashed through the brush. He could feel brambles and twigs grabbing at him, as if they were gnarly fingers, trying to trap him. Panic was filling him as he struggled through the dens
Henry jumped out of the van first as it made a stop at the front of a neighborhood. All around, kids with their parents were milling up and down the street, knocking on doors. Excitement filled Henry as he looked at the three other Power Rangers beside him in the fading light. “I’ll be back in an hour,” Andy’s mom said. “Then we’ll go to the next neighborhood.” Andy waved her off as he closed the door. “Come on guys,” he said, leading them away. “Let’s go!” Henry followed aft
This week I’m doing something different: a series spotlight on two amazing books by author Claire M.Banschbach as part of her relaunch blog tour! In January, Claire had the terrible news that her publisher was going under, so she decided to go indie! Check out her relaunch of her first book (The Rise of Aredor) and the launch of the second book in the series (The Wildcat of Braeton)! So this week I had a spark of insanity…er, inspiration! I’ve decided on my project for this year’s NaNoWriMo! Well, what do you guys think?? The synopsis goes something like this, but is subject to change: The year is 3088. The world has fallen to vermin and disease, cats having been erased from it by a devastating plague. To protect themselves, humanity has encapsulated their cities inside glass bubbles to keep the vermin and diseases out. No one goes beyond the glass walls.
I know I haven’t been consistent the last few weeks with Friday Blog Posts, but this past week was a little bit of an exception. On Monday we took Daisy, my 8-year-old border collie mix to the vet. She’d been vomiting and not eating, so we thought maybe a stomach bug or infection. The vet spent several hours doing X-rays and bloodwork, only to determine that she didn’t know what was wrong with Daisy. She referred us to a specialist to get an ultrasound. On Tuesday, we took Da
I had known for a long time that I had lived many past lives. I didn’t need regression therapy or hypnosis to help me realize that. The memories were always in the back of my mind, even though I was always in the present. I’m not sure why my brain was wired that way, but every body I occupied, it was the same. I was okay with that. For several lives, I knew what to expect and what my purpose was. But all of that changed when I met Sylvia. Or, actually, the first time her name
https://promptuarium.wordpress.com/2017/08/09/once-upon-a-time-2/ This week’s prompt comes from the Promptuarium. Sorry for being lazy the last few weeks! If nothing else, there will be a writing prompt every Friday. The actual prize didn’t matter. It was just a chunk of gold metal, or silver or whatever they were made out of these days. No, what mattered was the roar of battle: the scent of leather and lathered hide, the snort of her mount, the sound of hoofbeats in the sand
Today I want to share with you all part 2 of The Sword in the Ceiling. Catch part one here if you haven’t read it yet! Enjoy! To A.S., Director of Intelligence at the Galactic Defense Administration: You’re my last hope. I hate to sound like that tropey, “you’re my only hope” bullshit, but this time I’m serious. I’m sending you this message, and hopefully I will have finished it before they get here. There’s a lot you need to know, but I can’t possibly write it all here.
I received BoW as an ARC and was asked to do a review of it! R. Malak was previously featured on the Infinity Flower Publishing blog. Read his post here. Synopsis: “The Beginning” is a mixture of science fiction, fantasy, mystery, and survival.
Devastated by war with unknown creatures, Talmen a roamer searches for his long lost brother in the hopes of re-uniting his broken family.
Cora a resourceful ranger trained in both stealth and marksmanship heads out with her new squadr
We’ve talked a lot about maps and illustrations in our books, and I read this article by TS Adrian about the Shadyia Ascendant series and it rang so true! So today I was going to share another part of a short story with you all, but then I got caught up doing covers for the short stories I’m working on, so I thought I’d share those instead! The first cover I worked on is for the science fantasy short, “Jewels for Gemma”: Gemma is a retired member of GLOW, the Galactic Law Enforcement Over-Watch. She and her husband, Jared, are living the perfect life, but then a blue diamond shows up on her walk home one night. All she can thin
