The Story of Gladianima - Part 16

Hi all, I'm going to start trying to wrap up Gladianima in the next few chapters. It's meant to be a shorter side story and I feel like it's starting to drag a bit. Also, I'd like to work on other things! So these next 5 chapters will be the end of Gladianima. Hopefully it has a satisfying ending!
The 40th day at sea in the 56th year of the reign of King Brieuc of House Erdos.
Thyra knew she and Kegan were coming closer to something. She could feel it down into the core of her body. She knew that they were about to uncover what this thing was that had been calling her. She paused as they came over a hill, surveying the land below.
She hadn't been able to sleep since they'd left their beach shelter. She hadn't been able to eat much. She hadn't thought of anything else, other than whatever this voice was that was calling to her.
Kegan came to stand beside her. He hadn't said much in the last few days, and he seemed to regard her with wary eyes now as they stood on the hill.
Thyra felt her heart twist slightly at the thought that she had dragged him into this. "I'm sorry for all that's happened," she said, glancing over at him.
Kegan seemed surprised. He stared at her silently for a moment before turning his eyes to the distance. "Let's just get this over with," he said, exhaustion heavy in his voice. "This valley is giving me the creeps."
Thyra frowned lightly, turning her eyes back over the valley. Nothing seemed off to her. The sun was bright as it shone down onto the blue grass, illuminating the mountains that were looming overhead.
"Well, I think we're close," she said. Her eyes scanned the horizon, and the voice suddenly filled her mind, directing her to where she knew she would find a cave. "It's telling me there's a cave at the base of the mountains."
