Not a lot happening here, other than finishing Book Two of A Gexalatian Tale Series and getting ready for NaNoWriMo!
In light of that, I wanted to share two awesome books with you that I've had the pleasure of reading in the Indie Eden Book Club! Enjoy!
FINDING PANDORA: BOOK ONE, WORLD
Synopsis:
Welcome to Haeylo, where Supes rule the city, humans are an endangered species and Pandora is as curious as ever. Arriette Monroe never expected to be thrust into the heart of supernatural chaos, nor did she deem herself worthy of four very special gifts. But now she's got friends to rescue, Vampyrs to fight and impossible expectations to meet. Although Arriette thinks she's walking pandemonium, The Recruit think she's their saviour. And they're willing to prove it...
My Thoughts:
Great story! Lots going on though in this introduction to Haeylo and the search for Pandora. It was a bit difficult to keep it all straight at first, but the payoff is well worth it. I can't wait to see what Arriette does in book two!

KIND NEPENTHE
Synopsis:
Rebecca thought she’d find a hippie paradise when she moved to the desolate back hills of Humboldt County. A place to commune with nature and teach her five-year-old daughter how to live off the land. Instead she discovered a nightmare.
Coyote is a washed-up pot grower. Strung out on pills and dealing with dropping prices and looming legalization, he wonders if it’s even worth it anymore.
Diesel Dan abandoned his son for a life of methamphetamine and prison. Now he wants to make amends. He’s going to be a grandfather. But his son is on the same dark road of drugs and violence that once consumed him.
These characters will come together in an explosive ending that will leave you stunned and breathless. But more than just a gripping horror novel, Kind Nepenthe is a deep examination into the nature of love and greed, lost ideals, and the essence of evil in one of the last frontiers of the American West.
My Thoughts:
Suspenseful and intriguing! I read this book in a few hours and could not put it down! I don't usually read horror, but this was a wild ride from beginning to end. I felt sorry for the characters, especially when things started falling apart, which I would attribute to fantastic writing on the author's part! If you're a horror fan, and even if you're not, I highly recommend this book.
